How to plan a Dr. Seuss Party!
Dr. Seuss has made an impact on the literary world of children as well as adults, so what better way to celebrate his fun words and unique stories then a Dr. Seuss inspired dinner party.

You're Invited:
Here is a copy of the invitation sent out to all the guests. I create my own e-vites and send them via the free site: www.punchbowl.com I made a little rhyming description of the event to get people in he mood for Seuess!

The Details& Decor:
The Party details and decor were quite easy to do, all it took was a book or two. I put Swedish fish on the table but by the end there were few, I guess my guests liked to punch on fish red and blue. I also made my home colorful and bright, so take a look, like it you might....

The Dinning&Drinks:
When determining what I should cook, I simply looked to a Dr. Seuss book. From the Grinch we had Who Hash (potato casserole) and Roast Beast (roast beef). Then we had Green Eggs (deviled eggs with food coloring) and Ham (ham rolled in green tortillas and ham turnovers with spinach dipping sauce), Oh what a feast! For dessert I made cup cake's resembling Thing 1 and Thing 2, with red velvet cake and blue frosting it was easy to do!

The Dress:
Have each of your guests come as a different Dr. Seuss character, I made sure they RSVPed as their character so there were no duplicated.
Who's Who:
My friends each picked characters from books to portray they all looked great when they came that way. Dene was 1 Fish 2 Fish, Red fish Blue and my friend Saira came dressed as a Who...

Kenny and Kevin wore no shoes only socks, and brought books about feet and a fox
Sam I am was there too played by Kristin with cheer, and Thing 2 (Alaina) and Thing 1 (Ashley) also did appear.
Who was I do you ask? Why the Cat in the Hat. Tell me, Tell me, what do you think about that!?

The Games:
I had just purchased Just Dance for Wii so we danced the night away, we got quite sweaty.

Lets Party:
Look, look, look, look here is a treat. Pictures for the party, take a peak.

How to plan a Unique Christmas Party
The 12 Desserts of Christmas!

You're Invited:
Here is a copy of the invitation sent out to all the guests. I create my own e-vites and send them via the free site: www.punchbowl.com

The Details:
I wanted to have an open house Christmas Party so my friends could come and go as the pleased. I also wanted a theme, so I came up with the idea for costume christmas party: The 12 Desserts of Christmas

For the 1st Dessert of Christmas, Courtney Made for Me...
I made 12 different desserts: Cranberry Bliss Bars, Coconut Macaroons, Hugs and Kiss Peanut-butter Cookies, Popcorn Balls, Mini Pecan Pie, Swedish Tea Cookies, Brownies, Puppy Chow, Petite Pumpkin Pies, Double Chocolate Cookie and Frosting Sandwiches and Pecan Tassies. Email me or leave a comment for questions concerning specific recipes!

The Dress:
To represent christmas I encouraged people to come in festive colors or outfits. I wore a kelly green skirt with a red and white striped shirt and red tights all with white Mary Janes. My boyfriend Paris wore a navy sweater vest and a Snow Flake attached to his tie.

The Decor:
I had already had Christmas Decor, mostly wall art, a silver wreath, lights and three small trees, so additional decor was not necessary!

The Games:
We of course had to play Christmas Charades! The guests made their own clues and we played a big game.

We also had an ornament exchange where everyone brought (or made) their own ornaments and we exchanged them white elephant style

Party Foul:
Of course I am probably the only person my age that hosts party and serves punch and desserts instead of alcohol, but someone had to call the police anyway... check me out getting busted by the popo haha

Lets Party:
Here are some pictures!

How to plan a Harry Potter Party

You're Invited:
Start with a magical invitation. Here is a copy of the invitation sent out to all the guests. I create my own e-vites and send them via the free site: www.punchbowl.com over the world wide wizarding web!

The Details:
I am in love with Harry Potter books and the movie series franchise, so what better way to celebrate the newest film's premier then to host a Harry Potter Pre Party ? The night before the movie premiered my friends joined me for a night of magical festivities. Then at midnight we headed to the theatre to watch the movie!

The Decor:
Simple Decor tricks can go a long way. I made "house" emblems by printing out the symbols, attaching them to foam and adding safety pins. Then I placed them all in an old witch hat and "sorted" people as they arrived by having them pick from the house. Place harry potter books and candles around to grasp the theme while incorporating dark and regal colors, I choose maroon and gold for Grinfindoor. Set the table in a T shape and cover it with Harry Potter related items, I used miscellaneous "quidditch" balls.

The Dinning&Drinks:
Although authentic Harry Potter food would be ideal, it is not really logical. So make food that remains true to the theme without going overboard. For appetizers I made Dragons Eggs (deviled eggs) while the main course was Hogsmede Holiday Ham (honey glazed ham), Herbology Salad (garden salad) and Hagrid's Hot Rolls (basic rolls). Desserts were fun! I made Pretzel Wands by dipping thick pretzel sticks in frosting and covering them in sprinkles and cauldron cakes by adding licorice handles to chocolate covered cupcakes topped with sprinkles. Drinks were also exciting, I constructed Butter Beer (a mixture of creme soda and butterscotch syrup) and made a bubbling Polly Juice Potion (party punch) by adding dry ice! Be sure to add explanations for your guests who may be less Harry Potter informed.

The Dress:
Have everyone come in their finest Harry Potter attire, think scarfs, glasses, robes, wands, lighting bolts, really anything magical will do.

The Games:
For games I made a simple "who said that" quote and trivia game. Simply print out famous Harry Potter quotes, split into teams and battle it out. "TEN POINTS FOR GRIFFENDOR"

Lets Party:
Take a look at some of the pictures from the magical evening.

I hope you have as much fun as we had!
